The mysterious Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya release their first single with remixes by CSS, Yuksek & Brodinski and the infamous Iggor Cavalera as MixHell. Kitsuné don’t know much about Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya. They know that it didn’t take long until Bitchee and Ya Ya Ya caught everybody’s attention in the blogosphere. They ended up being listed on the internet all around the world thanks to their debut remixes of ‘Office Boy’ for Bonde Do Role (Domino) and the ones to come for Au Revoir Simone, The Whip and Cazals. Noticed by a whole community of aware artists and A&Rs, their work has been rewarded by a never-ending demand for their remixing talents. Despite this growing success, they have been able to maintain the mystery around them and their identity. They apparently met in the UK and they are said to be recording in Paris. Being compared to ‘dance machines’, ‘F*ck Friend’ is easily recognisable, thanks to the enormous sounds between lo-fi and post-punk, metronomic distorted drums, some vintage keyboards, very heavy basslines and Bitchee’s crystal-like voice singing melodies inspired by what they call candy-pop music, meaning cute songs sung by cute people. Despite the project’s young age, the band is already being supported by some of the greatest artists and DJs: Soulwax, Digitalism, Erol Alkan, Brodinski, CSS, Bonde Do Role, Mr Flash, The Teenagers, Yuksek, Mixhell, Poney Poney, Benjamin Diamond and more. ‘F*ck Friend’ has been remixed by Brodinsky & Yuksek, Mixhell (aka Iggor Cavalera from Sepultura) and CSS.
