Anthem alert! ‘Gangsta’, as if you couldn’t guess from the name, is dark and determined to run away with your soul from the off. It’s a true old-skool stepper for 2010, evoking memories of ‘Shadow Boxing’, with its creeping three tone reece bass that’ll own you within seconds of it dropping from behind a hazy mist of eerie pads and a simple break. In stark contrast to the above is the flipside ‘Above The Clouds’ which merely wants to soothe our souls, not steal them. Whirling pads and sun-quenched synths open this one over the top of a crisp amen break and sultry female coos.
