The debut album from the Italian duo "We Love" is justifiably ranked amongst the summersmashes of 2010. With this first 12”, the pair leave aside recollections of rousing Italodisco for the time being and springa surprise with two of their more unusual sounding pieces. These are given their own unique and functional club interpretations by three remix specialists. To kick things off, the Mannheim producer and DJ Johnny D, aka Johannes Debese, leaves the familiar deep house realm which he has explored with very successful releases on Oslo, 8bit and Deep Vibes. He turns "Underwater" into a surprisingly dark track which combines the melancholy overriding atmosphere of the original with a solid, driving sound and hypnotic pulse - get out on the floor and dance off those goose bumps! The flipside belongs to the BPC boss herself. As an avowed fan of We Love, with her remix of "Hide Me", Ellen Allien has come up with a highly personal club interpretation which only loosely refers to the original in its sound. It's no coincidence that a constant, rasping high-hat is placed in the mix to catch your ear and guide you safely through the kaleidoscope of changing sounds. DJs and dancers - trust your instincts! Daniele Papini's Underwater Remix, available on the digital release, is a considerably more down-to-earth affair: We Love's Italian producer and DJ colleague - who is also a member of Mauro Picotto's Alchemy Records family and the Meganite party crew - stays true to his technoid roots as well as the original track, condensing Underwater into an effective dance floor mover.
