Mr Atom, man of a hundred guises returns on this six tracker - any momentary Senor Coconut objections or concerns should be left at the door, as on "Insulting The DJ" we're far closer to his b-boying Stereonerds alter-ego than anything else. From the top of the 12", "Form Swallows Function" proceeds to devour itself from within - the bass drum gaining momentum over the lumpy rhythm. During the second part of the tune, the elements begin to cohere, finally syncing into a spangled micro-banger, all percussive aura and big room in a hurry. Part 3 beggars around, dubbing it up, pulling it back, panning filters all over the place - big tune! Flip for the excellently named "Insulting the DJ", an instant old-school prince style electro bomb brought fully up to date - part one is hilarious, a monologue cheerfully intros the main mix, commenting that none of us will understand the piece as we're all on drugs - the central version intros bass and kicks individually, and when that filthy bass drops over the purple rhythm its just classic Atom all the way.
